Privacy regulation for companies
The European Regulation 679/2016 and Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, provide several obligations of the Data Controller in order to make the processing of personal data happen in compliance with the fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the dignity of the person concerned.
The personal data shall be kept by the Data Controller and processed in a way to minimize the risks of unlawful access, destruction or loss through suitable organizational and technical security measures.
The New Regulation also provides for the introduction of the new figure of the Data Protection Officer (or DPO, according to the English acronym).
